What a Base Package Clean Covers, and How to Pick Add-Ons

When you ask for a quote on a house cleaning, the first thing worth knowing is what's already included. Clean Space builds every home cleaning around a base package that covers the essentials, then lets you add the extras you care about, so you only pay for what matters to you. Here's what the base package covers, room by room, and how to decide which add-ons are worth it for your home in McMinnville or anywhere else in Middle Tennessee.

What the base package covers in every room

Some tasks follow the cleaner through the whole house. Dusting is done top to bottom: ceiling fans, light fixtures, blinds, walls, vent covers, doors and doorframes, window casings, accessible baseboards, furniture, and decor. Dust settles downward, so starting high and finishing low means nobody dusts the same surface twice.

Floors come after the dusting, which is the same order you'd use yourself. They're vacuumed or swept, then mopped. Light switch plates are cleaned and sanitized, since they're touched all day long. The cleaner does some light tidying, and all the garbage goes into your outdoor bin. If you'd like, beds can be made and sheets changed, as long as clean sheets are provided.

Bathrooms

In the bathroom, toilets are cleaned and disinfected. Showers, tubs, and shower doors get scrubbed, which is where soap film and hard water spots like to build up. Countertops and sinks are cleaned and disinfected, faucets and fixtures are shined, and mirrors are cleaned. Anything sitting out on the countertop gets wiped, and the outsides of cabinets and drawers are dusted.

Kitchens

The kitchen gets the same attention to surfaces. Countertops and sinks are cleaned and disinfected, faucets and fixtures are shined, and exposed items on the counter are wiped. The outside of the major appliances is cleaned: stove and oven, fridge and freezer, microwave, and dishwasher. The inside of the microwave is included too. Cabinet and drawer exteriors are dusted.

That's the dividing line to remember. The outsides of your appliances are in the base package. The insides of the oven, fridge, and dishwasher are an add-on.

How to choose add-ons

For a furnished home, Clean Space offers these add-ons on top of the base package:

  • Laundry, which requires a washer and dryer in the unit.
  • Dishwashing.
  • Inside of kitchen appliances.
  • Interior window cleaning.
  • Wall hand-washing.
  • Cabinet hand-washing.
  • Top-to-Bottom Detail, which hand-washes accessible baseboards, doors and door frames, and window casings to remove buildup beyond standard dusting.

A practical way to pick is to walk through your house and notice what bothers you most. If it's a sink full of dishes at the end of a long week, dishwashing gives you the evening back. If laundry is the chore that never ends, the laundry add-on handles it, as long as you have a washer and dryer in the unit.

Inside kitchen appliances and interior windows make sense before guests arrive or when the seasons change, because those are the spots nobody sees until they look. Wall and cabinet hand-washing suits kitchens that get a lot of cooking, since grease and fingerprints collect on cabinet doors and walls faster than a dust cloth can lift them.

Top-to-Bottom Detail is the one to consider when the regular clean keeps up but buildup has crept in around baseboards, doors, and window casings. Because it's done by hand, it removes the film that dusting only moves around.

If you're still undecided, a good rule of thumb is to choose the add-on that covers the task you keep putting off. That's usually the one you'll feel most. Everything else can wait until you've seen how the base package leaves the house, and you can always mention what you're unsure about when you request a quote and ask what's worth adding for a home like yours.

What can change the plan

Most homes fall within standard pricing. Conditions like excessive buildup, debris removal, post-construction dust, mold, heavy clutter, or no running utilities can take extra time and labor, and they may affect the final price. Clean Space doesn't move furniture or large appliances. If an adjustment is needed, it's discussed and approved before work begins, so there are no surprise charges.

If you'd like help with a specific task that isn't on the list, just ask. The list isn't meant to box you in.
